Addison’s Disease, also known as primary adrenal insufficiency, is a rare but serious condition that occurs when the adrenal glands do not produce enough of certain essential hormones. Specifically, the body lacks adequate levels of cortisol (the “stress hormone”) and often aldosterone (which regulates sodium and blood pressure).
