Botanical Medicine

Also known as herbal medicine or herbal-ism, botanical medicine involves the use of plants to treat disease and promote balance/health.

Initial Assessment

A naturopathic assessment looks at the person as a whole, evaluating a patient’s current condition, including all symptoms, health risks, and causal factors that initiated or aggravated their condition.

An initial intake is approximately 60-90 minutes, looking at: diet, nutritional deficiencies, hormone imbalances, sensitivities and allergies, neurotransmitter imbalances, digestive imbalances, toxicity, infections, genetic abnormalities, and mental/emotional factors.

Understanding your history, and presenting symptoms, along with a thorough concern focused physical exam is needed to design a personalized treatment plan.  Your Naturopathic Doctor may also perform a tongue analysis, and assessment of food sensitivities within the first visit. Within this appointment, it will be determined if extended testing is needed from an outside lab, including checking for hormone imbalances, heavy metals, essential vitamin and mineral imbalances.

Naturopathic assessments help to better identify the cause of illness or disease, and are mainly used to design a personalized treatment plan to get back on the road to health and feeling great.
